Alleged serial fraudsters charged

Appearing before Nairobi’s Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku at Milimani

law Court on Friday 22nd of January 2021 at 9am East Africa Time Joshua

Kimeu Kioko and his co accused Joseph Muli pleaded not guilty to two

counts of forgery and uttering false documents.

The accused through their laywer in a brief application submitted

orally before the lower criminal court pleaded for lenient bond terms

and also assured the duty Court that they will attend all the

proceedings without fail as the Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku granted

their prayers and released the two on stringigent bond terms conditions

as they were directed to appear in the next fourteen days for

directions pending pretrial.

The first accused Joshua failed to appear before the Court on Thursday

21st January for plea taking where a summon was issued for him to

appear or risk being arrested with charges being preferred and

bond denied until the matter is heard and determined where his lawyer

requested the court to offer his client grace period for him appear and

plead for the criminal charges.

The States prosecution through Senior Gikunda informed the parked court

that in November the year 2013 at registrar of companies State Law

Office Nairobi County, the two forged annual company returns form for

WENDANO MATUU COMPANY LTD purporting to be the genuine company returns.

The two accused in a separate charge also pleaded not guilty to

uttering false documents.
