BUSINESSMAN LINKED IN FAKE DOLLAR DEAL FAILS TO SHOW UP IN COURT FOR PLEA TAKING

A youthful politician accused of forging

bank notes US dollars amount to over 88

million failed to appear before court

to plead to forgery charges.

Joseph Lendrix Waswa was summoned by the

Country Directorate of Criminal

Investigation early September on

allegations of being in possession of

forged bank notes contrary to section

359 of the penal code.

His lawyers who were present before

Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi at

Milimani informed the court that Joseph

Lendrix Waswa is sick and his doctor

advised for bed rest .

There application was granted by the

duty court and plea taking differed to

early October year 2023.

In the charge sheet presented before

court by the State Prosecutor,it is a

legend that on 7th of September year

2023 at Villa Mawe in Garden Estate

within Nairobi County , jointly with

others without lawful Authority or

excuse , the accused had in his

possession 643,178 forged USD currency

notes for one hundred denomination

bearing serial numbers knowing them to

be forged.
