DIRECTOR CHARGED WITH DEFRAUDING MAKINDU MOTORS 15M

A director of PushPark Development

Limited pleaded not guilty to two counts

of obtaining by false pretense and

conspiracy to defraud contrary to

section 317 and 313 of the penal code.

Joshi Kalpesh Manchha Shankar who was

arrested on 3rd August released on a

Police bond and directed to appear

before Nairobi’s Chief Magistrate

Micheni Wendy Kagendo where the charges

were read to him.

The State prosecutor Anderson Gikunda

informed the court that the accused

being one of the Directors of Pushpark

Development Limited, together with

others not before the court conspired

to defraud Stephen Ngei and Makindu

Motors 15,000,000 million Kenya

shillings.

It was alleged that the criminal offence

was committed on 2nd and 4th of

October 2012, at Nairobi city within

Nairobi County.

And in a separate count the accused was

alleged to have obtained the sum of

Kenya shillings fifteen million from

Stephen Ngei and Makindu Motors by

falsely pretending that he was to

invest for the complainants the said

amount in Development of a housing

project namely White OAK apartments from

which, upon completion, they were to

earn a profit of 8,000,000 Kenya

shillings a fact the accused knew to be

false.

The accused through his lawyer applied

to be released on bond , where the court

freed him on a bond of 5 million surety

of the same or a cash bail of 2 million

shillings plus two Kenyan contact

person.
