FAKE MEDIA COUNCIL OF KENYA JOURNALISTS EXPOSED

Masquerading as Members of the Media

Council of Kenya and armed with the

allegedly fake MCK badges , the two

accused Thomas Ochieng Owino and Fred

Odanga Azelwa were charged with three

counts of giving false information to a person employed by the public service , forgery and uttering false document.

The accused pleaded not guilty and were

freed by the Senior Principal Magistrate

David Ndungi on a bond of 100.000

surety of the same or pay a cash bail of

50.000 Kenya shillings pending trial.

Thomas Ochieng and Fred Odanga Azelwa

were arrested by the Directorate of

Criminal Investigation Detectives on

09th July year 2021 where they were

released on a police bond of 10.000 each

and directed to appear before Nairobi’s

Senior Principal Magistrate on 24th

September.

The State Prosecutor Abel Gichana

informed the court that the accused

gained entry into the guarded Kenyatta

International Convention Centre KICC

using fake Media Council of Kenya badges .

It is also alleged that the accused

forged the Media Card purporting to be

the Media Card from the media Council of

Kenya , contrary to section 353 of the

penal code .

The State Prosecution has lineup

several witnesses to testify during the

trial .
