An appeal filed by Nominated Senator
Beatrice kwamboka Makori has been
dismissed by the tribunal .
Kwamboka had appealed against Orange
Democratic Movement party on grounds
that the party shortchanged her after
she applied to be nominated as a
Senator.
The nominated Senator appealed against
the decision by ODM party that left her
out from the 16 shortlisted candidates
women representatives to the party
senate list.
The appellant moved to the tribunal on
27th of July seeking the nullification
of the party nomination list for women
nominees to the Senate.
The Senator through her Lawyer Danstan
Omari accused ODM for nominating members
who have no qualification in line to
party nomination rules.
She further stresses that some of the
members nominated are not life members
of ODM party.
ODM in their response to Kwamboka’s
allegations through the party Executive
Director said that the appellant
Beatrice Kwamboka has not presented any
evidence to support her allegations
before the tribunal.
The Orange Democratic party in response
said that the allegations made by one of
their member Kwamboka against the party
is scandalous, alarmist, geared to
paint the party in bad image also to
water down the nomination process.
The tribunal dismissed the appellant
application on grounds that it lacks
merit.
The decision by the tribunal was issued
by the Chairman Fredrick Oregon, Zakayo
Alakonya and Barbara Malowa
