ODM MP LEMPURKEL ACQUITTED OVER INCITEMENT CHARGES

Former Laikipia North Member of

Parliament has been acquitted of

incitement charges.

Matthew Lempurkel was arrested after the

former Rift valley George Natembeya

accused the the former MP for inciting

the locals to fight which led to some

communities being uprooted .

Lempurkel was arrested on 8th September

2021 at his resident in Ongata Rongai,

Kajiado County.

He was arraigned at Milimani Law Court,

where he was charged with incitement to

violence .

Several witnesses were called to testify

against the accused.

While delivering the ruling, Senior

Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi found

out that the state failed to prove the

charges against the accused and

acquitted him under section 210.
