CAMEROONIAN CITIZEN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT REMANDED

The accused Arnold Langu was arrested at Ngara Estate Nairobi

after he refused to open his rented door forcing detectives from

Central Police Station to gain entry through the window to execute

warrant

Summons which were issued against the Investigating Officer were

lifted .

State prosecutor requested the court to deny the accused bond and

Be remanded until the matter is heard and determined  since the

accused has no fixerboard and keeps renting city houses for short

period time

Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Catherine Muthoni

Njagi at Milimani Law Court on Monday 26th April year 2021

The accused in his defence informed the court that he was drank

and unable to hear people knocking the door

He also said that he was unwell but was unable to produce medical

documents before the court

In her short ruling after oral submissions Senior Principal

Magistrate ordered accused to remain in custody and be produced

on 17th of May, the matter will heard virtually.
Arnold Langu the accused was arrested on third January year 2020

and charged on 06th same year with two counts of assault causing

bodily harm and being unlawfully in the Country Kenya.

The court was informed that in early year 2020

Along koinange Street Nairobi County, the accused unlawfully and

willingfully assaulted Tchoukeu Tchoufack innocent occasioning

him

Actual bodily harm contrary to section 251 of the penal campaign

code

And in a separate charge the accused is alleged to be unlawfully

present in Kenya, being a Cameroonian the accused was found to be

unlawfully in the county without proper valid passport in

contravention of the law section 51(1) as read with section 53(2) of

the Kenyan citizenship and immigration act.

The accused who currently being held in police custody faces more

charges of obstructing justice after the trial court issued a warrant

of arrest for failing to appear before court
