NANDI COUNTY KENYA GOVERNOR SANG UNDER SIEGE AS ELECTED LEADERS CALL FOR HIS RESIGNATION OVER CORRUPTION

The outspoken Nandi County elected youngest Governor in Kenya Stephen Sang is under siege.

As a special committee for was formed by the Nandi County recommending, for the arrest and Prosecution of Top Nandi County officials involved in alleged mega corruption.

The Nandi County Kenya elected Members of County Assembly (MCA) demanded for the resignation of Governor Stephen Sang, over alleged theft and loss of Public properties in the County storage facility.

During a special sitting on Wednesday 24th July 2019 at 10am East African Time, at the Nandi County Kenya Assembly for more than five hours.

The Elected Nandi County Assembly members adopted a motion on committee report investigating theft and loss of Public properties.

The loss of Public properties took place in several departments of Transport, infrastructure, Education and Vocational training.

During the debate at the Nandi County Assembly accompanied by heated verbal exchanges among the Members of Nandi County Assembly from different functions.

Members resolved to invite the EACC and DCI to investigate the misappropriation of the public funds and alleged planned theft and loss of the public properties.

Some Members of the Nandi County Assembly called the outspoken and a close Ally of the Deputy President Governor Stephen sang together with top Nandi County members to resign over alleged calculated theft.

The Nandi Governor Stephen Sang recently unlawfully suspended several County staffs and appointed a large number of members in acting capacity, a move that was opposed and described as unlawful.

Upon hearing the alleged theft of Nandi County Properties, Governor Stephen Sang acting without consulting and following the laid down procedures.

Unlawfully and intentionally suspended sixteen Nandi County officials, reported the theft allegations at Kapsabet Police Station where several County officials were arrested and without following the law appointed over ten new County officials.

On 07th May 2019 it is alleged that Governor Stephen Sang through a press statement to members of the fourth estate.

Highlighted the alleged theft in various Nandi County departments which occurred on 18th of April 2019.

The alleged criminal offence took place at the Transport Infrastructure departments, Education and Vocational training storage facilities .

In a move to establish a Counterbility and Transparency, Gedion Koech elected MCA of Nandi Hills moved a motion.

Calling for the suspension of the Nandi County Assembly businesses, to pave way for the crucial debate of the alleged theft and loss of public properties in the Nandi County storage.

The motion was approved by the County Assembly Members inline with the County Assembly standing orders.

County Assembly standing order 195A give the the County Assembly Members power to establish a committee to investigate issues of theft and loss of the public properties.

The Committee formed under the standing orders is mandated to carry out investigations on alleged losses and theft and to establish whether the law was breached.

And must report their findings within a short period of time to allow further decisions be made on the findings in the floor of the County Assembly .
