Former Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip was
arrested on Wednesday 15th and
arraigned before Milimani court where
he was charged with three counts of
making false document, obtaining money
by false pretense and uttering a false
document.
The youthful Senator who was elected as
Lamu representative in the year 2017
vied and was defeated during 2022
general election.
He pleaded not guilty before Senior
Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and
was released on a bond of one
million surety of the same or cash bail
of 700,000 pending trial.
it is alleged that Anuar unlawfully
obtained from Samson Malonza six
million Kenya shillings by falsely
pretending that he was in a position to
sell him a motor vehicle.
In a separate charge the accused
knowingly and fraudulently uttered to
the complainant a forged motor vehicle
registration certificate purporting to
be a genuine registration , his also
accused of making a fake motor vehicle
registration certificate.
