MANDATORY QUARANTINE FOR PRIEST

Nairobi’s Senior Magistrate Martha Nanzushi in

a brief ruling while freeing the Catholic Priest

on bond, ordered the servant of God for self

quarantine for two weeks.

Father Richard Onyango Oduor who was

arraigned before a lower criminal Court, pleaded

not guilty to one count.

Where he was charged with spreading infection

contrary to section 186 as read with section 36

of the penal code.

Appearing at Milimani Law Court on Thursday

16th April 2020 at 11.42 am East Africa Time,

Father Onyango was released on a bond of 0.5

million surety of the same or a cash bail of

150,000 Kenya shillings plus one contact

person.

The State Prosecution has lined up six

witnesses to testify against the accused.

It is alleged that the Catholic Priest who

travelled back

to Kenya from Italy and South Africa negligently

spread the infectious disease namely the

deadly Coronavirus.
