MANDERA RESIDENTS WANT POLICE TO ARREST KILLERS

A community in Mandera county together

with the family of a man who was

stabbed to death by foreigner are

asking the authorities to move with

speed and arrest their kin’s killer.

The family of the late Hashim Okash

Mohammed stormed the office of the

county Criminal investigation officer

Pius Gitari who promised to apprehend

the actual killer who is alleged fled

to Somali.

One suspect who is in custody Hajjio

Maaalim Nur is expected to be arraigned

at Garissa court next week to plead

to murder charge.

In an emotional community within

Mandera town , they alleged that in one

month alone the community have lost

seven people through alleged senseless

killings where it is believed that

the culprits flee to Somali after

commiting offence.

Through their lawyer Danstan Omari they

blamed insecurity to the

issuance of identity card to foreigners

as the same people commit crime and

cross the border.
